Solstice Sunrise Yoga & Forest Bathing: Mt. Echo

  • Mt. Echo Park 251 Mount Echo Park Drive Cincinnati, Ohio, 45205 United States (map)

Solstice in the Park is a public wellness event occurring in Cincinnati Parks' Mt. Storm Park and Mt. Echo Park on June 20 and June 21. This two-day celebration welcomes the arrival of summer through sunrise yoga, forest bathing, and mindful connection to nature in two of Cincinnati's most scenic parks.

The first gathering takes place on Saturday, June 20, from 7:00–9:00 AM at Mt. Storm Park, where participants will greet the morning sun with a guided yoga session before joining Dr. Barbara Walker of the University of Cincinnati Osher Center for Integrative Health for a forest bathing experience and mini-hike through the park's wooded landscape.

The second gathering takes place on Sunday, June 21, from 7:00–9:00 AM at Mt. Echo Park. Following sunrise yoga, participants will be led on a guided forest bathing experience and mini hike by Madison Lindsay, ANFT-Certified Forest Therapy Guide and Naturalist.

Perched on opposite sides of Cincinnati's urban basin, Mt. Echo and Mt. Storm Parks were designed as places to experience the city through its landscape. Their iconic overlooks frame the eastern and western horizons, making them natural settings to celebrate the summer solstice—the longest days of the year. More than a century after their creation, these hilltop parks continue to connect residents to the rhythms of nature, the beauty of the city, and one another.

Through yoga, guided sensory experiences, and gentle exploration, attendees are invited to experience the restorative benefits of spending intentional time outdoors and to appreciate the beauty and civic significance of Cincinnati's park system.

Bring water and a yoga mat or towel, and closed-toed shoes to join the hike afterward.

This program is part of Cincinnati Parks + Rec for Wellness, one of more than 300 free events offered each year to support health and well-being across our community.
