As part of Cincinnati Parks + Rec for Wellness, this beginner-friendly mountain bike ride invites participants to enjoy the new Mt. Airy Bike Skills Course while learning a new skill, building confidence and enjoying the outdoors. Led by Cincy Mountain Bike Club, these weekly rides offer a fun, supportive environment for riders to learn and connect.
More about the clinic:
This is a beginner-focused class for riders who have always wanted to try it but are intimidated. We want to help new or returning mountain bikers discover how ACCESSIBLE and FUN mountain biking can be.
This class is perfect for ANYONE 14+ who's curious about mountain biking. Our BICP Level 1 certified Cincinnati Mountain Bike Club (CMBC) instructors, Sherman Butler and Elena Teran.
We love the sport and bringing that love to new riders. We'll create an environment where questions can be asked, and mistakes can be made as you learn.
Riders will learn the following techniques: find balance, maintain an optimal riding position, master basic bike control, properly brake and shift, and practice their trial riding skills on a beginner ride on the skills course.
Bring water. Closed-toe athletic shoes are recommended. A limited number of bikes will be available to borrow.
Inclement weather may cancel events.
This group mountain bike ride is part of our seasonal Cincinnati Parks + Rec for Wellness biking series and one of the 300+ free events we bring to the community each year. It’s designed to help people connect with nature, each other, and all that Cincinnati Parks has to offer.
